The cabinets are constructed in solid walnut with paneled doors and a single drawer above, resting on turned bun feet. The restrained proportions and clean architectural lines are characteristic of provincial Louis Philippe furniture, valued for its practicality and understated elegance. Each cabinet is topped with an original Carrara marble slab featuring soft grey veining and clipped front corners. The marble is well proportioned to the cases and shows gentle age-appropriate wear consistent with period use. The interiors are finished in pine, with fixed shelving, reflecting traditional French construction of the time. Both pieces have been structurally revised and refinished in our studio. Joints have been checked and stabilized as needed, and the wood has been cleaned and refinished to enhance the natural warmth and patina of the walnut while preserving their antique character. Versatile in scale, these pieces work beautifully as bedside tables, end tables, or flanking cabinets in a bedroom, living room, or entry.
