The central medallion depicts bats or moths flying among lotus blooms and scrolling leaves, while the outer rim cartouches show monkeys holding peaches — classic auspicious motifs associated with blessings, longevity, harmony, and good fortune.

The pierced rim allows light to pass through the plate, giving it depth and delicacy, and reflects skilled handwork typical of late Qing to early Republic period export porcelain. The cobalt blue decoration shows subtle variation consistent with hand painting, and the porcelain body has a soft, luminous glaze with natural pooling toward the foot.

The underside bears a hand-painted blue seal mark within a circular cartouche. This is a studio or auspicious mark rather than an imperial reign mark, consistent with private kiln production during the late Qing to early Republic era. The footring shows honest age wear appropriate to its age.
