The … Read more A rare vase designed by renowned Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti in 1940 and later produced by Costantino. The vase has a tall column shape and rounded base, with a sinuous handle, giving it a sinuous and elegant profile. Made of Bucchero ceramic, the black ceramic produced by the Etruscans. The name derives from the Spanish term bucaro, which referred to a type of black ceramic produced in South America and imported in the 17th century, very similar to Etruscan ceramics. Original label under the base “Gio Ponti Neoponti 1940.”
