A charming mid-century figurative scene capturing two quiet moments at a cafe, painted in oil onto canvas.

In the foreground, a seated figure in a deep navy jacket and soft blue beret rests a hand on the edge of a round cafe table, their form simplified into warm, tonal blocks of colour. Behind them, another figure is absorbed in reading, rendered with the same softened anonymity. A bright window view opens out to terracotta rooftops and a leafy green tree, bathing the interior in a gentle, diffused glow.

Painted in a restrained, modernist style, the composition favours suggestion over detail. Colours are muted yet fresh – powder blues, sage greens, clay reds, and chalky neutrals form a harmonious palette.
