The frame features four luminous mirrors set along the flat inner band and angled outward, while the outer surface and inner edge are finished in gold leaf. Together, these elements create a bright, elegant, and sophisticated optical effect. Marco Lodola, born in Dorno (Pavia) in 1955, studied at the Fine Arts Academies of Florence and Milan. In the early 1980s he was among the leading figures of the “New Futurism” movement, theorized by the critic Renato Barilli. Lodola’s work is distinguished by vivid colors, essential silhouettes, pop-culture themes (such as Vespa scooters, cars, pin-ups, and dancers), and his use of plastic materials, plexiglass, neon, and light in his sculptural pieces. This composition, created in the late 20th century and inspired by the iconic Abbey Road album cover by the Beatles, depicts four stylized figures walking in sequence. Each figure appears within a different chromatic panel—green, yellow, blue, and red—producing a dynamic, rhythmic effect typical of Lodola’s visual language. The internal format, approximately 45 × 21 cm (17.7 × 8.3 in), is unusual and further emphasizes the horizontal layout and cadence of the figures. Renowned for merging art, light, design, and pop aesthetics, Lodola draws from the spirit of New Futurism and the vibrancy of contemporary visual culture. This work exemplifies those principles: the repetition of forms, the purity of line, and the saturated colors offer a modern, energetic, and immediately recognizable visual experience. The print bears the inscription “A.P.” (Artist’s Proof) at lower left. In fine-art printmaking, an Artist’s Proof is an authorized impression made outside the numbered edition, reserved for the artist. Although not part of the main edition (e.g., 1/150), Artist’s Proofs are fully authentic, signed, and often highly sought-after for their rarity. This screenprint is visually striking, featuring intense color transitions and iconic pop-modern silhouettes—signature elements of Lodola’s artistic vocabulary. The piece is in excellent overall condition. Dimensions: Width 70 cm (27.6 in), Height 56 cm (22 in), Depth 3 cm (1.2 in). See less
