Atlantic Mold Company, founded in 1957 in South Carolina, became one of the most influential ceramic mold producers in the United States. Their molds were widely used by studio potters, hobbyists, and small workshops from the 1950s through the 1970s, resulting in pieces that blend standardized forms with highly individual glazes and finishes. Because the final glazing and firing were done by hand, no two Atlantic Mold pieces are exactly alike.
