A refined and substantial antique Meissen porcelain oval meat serving platter decorated in the celebrated Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) pattern. Hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue on white hard-paste porcelain, the platter displays Meissen’s classic floral and foliate motifs framed by a scalloped rim.
The underside bears the hand-painted crossed swords mark, confirming authentic Meissen manufacture and first quality. The mark and form indicate production in the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880–1920).
At 21 inches by 15 inches, this is a large presentation-scale platter, a form produced in smaller quantities and particularly desirable for collectors and formal table display.
Condition:
Very good antique condition with light, age-consistent wear to the foot. No chips, cracks, or restorations noted.
