The proportions and refined carving suggest production in Northern Italy, likely late 19th to early 20th century, drawing from earlier French and Italian court furniture traditions.

The frames retain an exceptionally attractive, layered historic painted finish, showing soft celadon, pale sage, and warm stone hues, with remnants of original water gilding visible throughout the carved details and edges.
