A fantastic Campan Melange marble top with a molded edge, shaped in the same bowed effect as the body, is streaked with ribbons of veining of ruby-red, green, ivory, and blush undertones. The substantial walnut case of four drawers features impressive carvings to define the drawer fronts down to the unique scrolling pattern on the apron, punctuated with spherical panels down the middle and iron ring pulls forged by hand. Note the escutcheons are purely decorative now, no key is present. Patina in the wood as expected from time and use, recently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve every aspect of this exceptional commode.
