A fine pair of Chinese stone carved temple seals with foo dog decorations, probably dating to the 19th century, with incised Chinese characters on the side of each.
These were originally used as "chops" for stamping ink on parchment or silk. Clearly, these have had little use as original.
Probably used as Bookends or decorative accessories.
Very good overall condition, with great patina.
Both have been cleaned and toned to luster. No major chips, minor flea bites.
One has a hairline separation on the head. Does not alter the patina and structure.
Dimensions: 6 ⅝” h x 2 ⅛” w x 2 ¼” d.
