Italian Demijohn / Carboy originally used for transporting wine (ca. early 20th Century, Italy).
Bulbous ballon/teardrop form composed of attractive emerald green free-blown glass exhibiting trapped air bubbles within the glass itself with squat neck with sheared lip and applied ring.
Very good, vintage condition with minimal exterior scuffing along with light interior soiling/spotting from use. Both large and small air bubbles present throughout. Deep line toward the base is a result from the glass being melded together (not damage).
Both the interior and exterior of the piece have been thoroughly cleaned.
Sourced in Rome, Italy.
H: 25.25" x Diameter: 18.5"
Other Italian and French demijohns available separately. See group shots for other examples. (This bottle is second from the right on the bottom in the group images.)
