A magnificent, extremely rare two-handled mantle vase in majolica ceramic, entirely hand-crafted on a lathe, with two large handles, glazed with cerulean enamels, signed on the back with the Pratica di Mare factory mark, Principessa Borghese, made in Rome in the early decades of the 20th century. Crafted in the Baroque style, it features prominent scalloping and deep grooves, reminiscent of the gilded wooden bases of 17th-century lamps or candlesticks. Excellent dimensions and condition, the vase is flawless despite its age—it is over 100 years old.

Useful information for appraising the item:
This vase is particularly valuable, especially for its extremely rare cerulean glaze, used only in the factory's very early productions. Later, the factory specialized in ceramics finished with silver or gold glazes. This type of vase is by far the rarest, oldest, and most sought-after by collectors. The vase is attributed to Renzo Cellini, one of the greatest and most important exponents of this craft. Through our online research, we found an article about an exhibition at the Boncompagni Museum featuring several pieces from this manufacturer. Among the few pieces on display is a vase virtually identical to ours, only glazed with gold rather than cerulean enamels (see last photos). Keep in mind that cerulean vases are much more valuable, rare, and sought-after than gold or silver ones. This is an important piece, a true gem for art lovers and collectors.
