These vases are exquisitely crafted, straddling the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. A specialist in autumnal landscapes, his motifs depict the plant world, here stylized foliage and ferns in shades of orange and brown. Against an inky blue background, they stand out powerfully and are quite moving. Thanks to the use of metallic oxides, Simonod's glazes are recognizable for their subtle iridescence. Striking, elegant, and remarkable, these vases from the 1930s are true collector's items.

The vases are a good size. The blue glaze with its plant motif of foliage and ferns is sublime, iridescent in the light. Minor flaws and rare areas of missing glaze are visible in the photos. The price is for the pair. The vases are signed "France/102" on the base.
