Beautiful Han Xiangzi 19th/18th century export figure.
Han Xiangzi, also known as Han Xiang, is one of the Eight Immortals in Chinese Taoist mythology. He is often depicted as a young man playing a flute, symbolizing his role as the patron deity of musicians.
According to legend, Han Xiangzi was the nephew of Han Yu, a prominent Tang Dynasty poet and statesman. He became a disciple of Lü Dongbin, another of the Eight Immortals, under whose guidance he pursued Taoist practices and ultimately achieved immortality.
Han Xiangzi is renowned for his ability to make flowers bloom instantly through the music of his flute. His story reflects themes of transcendence and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment, central to Taoist beliefs.
