Vintage canister or lidded box made of raku-fired earthenware. Features beautiful scale and crazing pattern throughout the off-white glaze, contrasting a matte black band around the mouth. Artist signed.
This type of raku features crazing which is due to a change in temperature and in the reduction oxidation process. This makes each piece unique, with the final outcome often out of the artist's control and left up to the natural firing process.
