Antique Ohio stoneware Spaniel has cobalt features, collar and chain and textural raised-relief coat. Attributed to late 19th or early 20th century. Thick-walled, unrefined construction and heavy at 9"H and 4.5 lbs.; suitable for use as a doorstop. Popular starting around 1900, Bristol slip glaze was a technique of dipping into white glaze prior to firing. Piece is streaked with white residue. See less
