A serene and beautifully sculpted porcelain figurine from NAO by Lladró, crafted in Spain and produced only for a short period in the mid 1990s. This piece, Model 1204, depicts a young woman gently holding a small bird, rendered in the soft pastels and graceful lines that define NAO’s most collectible works.
This model was introduced around 1994 and retired shortly after, with no evidence of production beyond the mid 1990s. Because of its brief manufacturing window, it appears far less frequently than many other NAO designs from the era, making it a moderately scarce find for collectors.
The figurine stands approximately 11 inches tall and carries the original NAO crown backstamp and model number on the underside.
Rarity: Model 1204 was produced for only a short period (1994–1995) and retired soon after. Unlike many NAO designs that remained in production for a decade or more, this figurine had a brief manufacturing window and appears far less frequently on the secondary market. Some NAO models we reissued with updated marks. I do not see any evidence of that on this one. The NAO marks on them — the crown with the serifed NAO lettering — is consistent with mid 1990s production. The fact that this model only shows up occasionally indicates that it had a relatively small production - maybe about 5000 to 12,000 worldwide, making it a "moderately scarce" piece. Its limited run and graceful sculpting make it a desirable find for collectors of Lladró and NAO. See less
