A beautiful example of Southeast Asian village craftsmanship, this bulbous terracotta jar hails from Thailand. It is designed in the traditional style of a water storage vessel, used to keep water cool in the tropical heat. The piece is defined by its rich, unglazed red clay body and the band of delicate white slip decoration around the shoulder. The geometric patterns—reminiscent of ancient Ban Chiang motifs—are painted by hand, giving the piece a rhythmic, tribal aesthetic that feels both ancient and modern.
This pot is a textural treasure for Organic Modern interiors. Its matte, rusty hue pairs incredibly well with warm woods and woven seagrass. It is the perfect scale 15' to stand alone as a sculptural object on a console or coffee table.
