The surface … Read more Powerful hand-thrown earthenware vase with a deeply textured verdigris-style glaze, strongly evocative of oxidized bronze and aged copper. The surface is richly mottled in dark green, teal, and moss tones, with tonal depth and movement that shifts in changing light—very much in the spirit of Axel Salto and mid-century Brutalist ceramics that Kelly Wearstler, Nate Berkus, Jeremiah Brent, and Leanne Ford incorporate into design.

The form is grounded and architectural, with a wide, rounded body and recessed neck, accented by subtle incised rings near the rim and two, raw-edge details on either side. The weight, scale, and glaze chemistry give the piece a sculptural presence that reads more as object than vessel.

Signed by the artist on the underside and dated 2008, with an unglazed foot ring consistent with studio pottery practice.
