Sublimely beautiful in her youth, moving confidently into womanhood. This depiction of that transitional time evokes strong emotions from the viewer.
The base or plinth appears to be marble, and possibly the dress as well. The head is definitely alabaster.
This sculpture measures about 15 inches high, 12 3/4 wide, 7 1/4 deep. In nearly perfect condition, with a couple of truly tiny "flea bites" to one edge of the subject's dress, in front on the left, and on the marble plinth on a corner.
