A refined antique Japanese Satsuma-style decorative bowl from the late Meiji period (circa 1890–1910), distinguished by its elegant form and finely balanced decoration.
The bowl is shaped with a softly lobed rim and finished in warm ivory-toned glaze. The exterior is adorned with cascading purple wisteria vines, delicately rendered in enamel and fine gilt outlining. Inside, a tranquil garden scene with birds and seasonal flowers unfolds.
The underside bears a hand-painted red and gilt seal reading “Koshida (越田)”.
With its harmonious palette, crisp gilding, and excellent preservation, this bowl is well suited for display on a console, shelf, or within a curated collection of Asian decorative arts.
It measures approximately 6 1/8” in diameter, 2 1/2”.
