The statue features a traditional "Rouge & Gold" finish: a layer of auspicious red lacquer was originally applied to seal the wood, followed by gold leaf or paint. Decades of handling and time have worn the gold down, allowing the warm red under-layer and the raw wood to peek through. The result is a rich, textured surface that glows with history.
