The stylized horse and the lively colors are what attracted me to this work by Josep Puigmartí (1932-2020), a Spanish … Read more The stylized horse and the lively colors are what attracted me to this work by Josep Puigmartí (1932-2020), a Spanish artist who had a prolific life and resided in Sitges, Spain, for many years. The title of this work is Caballo de la Selva, which is translated literally as "Horse of the Forest." This is a lithograph in a limited edition of 260, the number of this copy appearing in the lower left-hand corner as 181 (refer to picture 4). The artist's signature appears in the lower right-hand corner (refer to picture 5). The framing shop, Kulicke Frames, is noteworthy because of its founder, Robert Kulicke, who modernized the design of picture frames (refer to picture 13).

This lithograph is in very good condition with no damage to the matting or the frame. The front of the frame is covered in plexiglas, and the back is covered in cardboard (refer to picture 12). I photographed this piece outside on a sunny day, so any dark areas that appear in the pictures are reflections in the plexiglas.
