This is a mid-century bowl in pencil reed rattan with brass trim.
This style of decorative basket was handcrafted in Italy during the 1960s or 1970s.
It is often attributed to designers like Gabriella Crespi or design studios such as Vivai Del Sud, who specialized in "tropical glam" style furnishings.
The piece combines natural materials with a polished metal edge, which can be brass or copper.
The bowl is a vintage decorative item that may show slight signs of use consistent with its age.
I have left the patina on the metal trim adding to it's unique charm.
