At the dawn of the 20th century, well-crafted cabinets like this were frequently employed by English shopkeepers to showcase and store their merchandise. True to its inspiration, this large scale cabinet exudes a sense of drama with its brass bar handles, elegantly molded cornice, and plinth-style base. The cabinet has been meticulously constructed from solid oak, adorned with a matte multi-step finish, and hand-applied wax. The interiors and adjustable beveled shelves were painted to harmonize with the exterior. Antiqued brass bar handles are securely fastened with cast metal hardware. This style is no longer in production with the brand and its condition is good for age and use.
