Dominique Labauvie was born in 1948 in Strasbourg, France. He studied art history, literature & philosophy at the University of Strasbourg. In 1987, he had eight acclaimed solo exhibitions and published several catalogs. Labauvie has been commissioned to create more than a dozen monumental sculptures for both private collectors and public art projects in France and in the US. His artwork is exhibited at the prestigious Gallery Maeght Paris and the Foundation Maeght in St. Paul, France. Boca Raton Museum of Art, FL, the Runnymede Sculpture Park, Woodside, CA, the National Collection of Contemporary Art, Paris, the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris, and the Public Collection of Contemporary Art of the City of Paris. His work is part of numerous public and private collections. Since 1998, Dominique Labauvie has lived in Tampa, FL.
