The rim is … Read more A beautifully modeled Hornberg majolica plate featuring raised leaves, ferns, and floral motifs on a creamy ground. The rim is finished in a soft green glaze with dotted detailing and a subtle Greek key border, a decorative treatment strongly associated with Hornberg’s late 19th‑ to early 20th‑century production. A small bow motif is incorporated into the relief design, adding to the plate’s charming, old‑world character.

The underside carries Hornberg’s heart‑shaped heraldic crest supported by two unicorns, along with an impressed “MAJOLICA” stamp. This combination of marks is documented on Hornberg’s export‑era botanical ware produced between 1890 and 1930.
A rare and highly decorative example of German majolica with excellent detail and historical charm.
