A beautifully modeled German majolica plate by Georg Schmider of Zell, featuring a raised basketweave ground and a central motif of pears, nuts, and foliage. The glaze palette is a classic Schmider blue—vibrant yet soft, with warm naturalistic tones in the fruit and leaves. The dimensional modeling and crisp relief are hallmarks of Zell’s early‑ to mid‑20th‑century majolica production.
The underside carries the impressed mold number 2230 along with a B, a marking style documented across Schmider’s basketweave fruit series.
