A magnificent candy jar, featuring a lid with a pine cone-shaped knob, a small potiche in the finest, creamy white … Read more A magnificent candy jar, featuring a lid with a pine cone-shaped knob, a small potiche in the finest, creamy white porcelain, glazed and richly finished in pure gold. Crafted and signed with an ancient shield-shaped mark engraved under the base by the famous Imperial Manufactory of Vienna, it was created in the Rococo style around the end of the first half of the 18th century. The porcelain of the jar is particularly fine, creamy and milky, rich in kaolin, the unmistakable consistency of older porcelain. It is most noticeable under the base, in the unglazed part, or under the lid; I can assure you it has nothing to do with 19th-century porcelain. The finishes, made with copious amounts of pure gold, and the shape of the object are marvelous; note the wide handles in typical Rococo style.
