The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. Soft, warm exquisite detailing with no buffing or machine polishing.

The toast fork evolved from a three and four pronged instrument on the end of a long handle, known as a toasting fork. The earliest examples date back to the sixteenth century and were used to toast items like apples, cheese, or puddings over an open fire. They entered the dining room with shortened handles in the late nineteenth century, and functioned to stab, lift, and transport a bread slice from a basket to a bread and butter plate. Consummate hosts and hostesses still depend on toast forks to blend utility with sophistication, and to add a touch of elegance to the dining experience
