This gorgeous, very large platter is a rare piece of California Pottery dating from the 1930s. The classic Santa Barbara style red/orange glaze is what is known as "Toyon" Red, named after the berry of a native California tree. It works beautifully with classic Fiesta Ware colors, stoneware, and other classically Mid Century serving ware.
Not signed on the underside. There is a model number. I am sure this is either a Bauer or Catalina piece as it is not your average Joe. Rather a Sleeping Beauty.
