Cast in solid bronze, the piece is notably heavy, with richly carved and embossed decoration covering the surface in intricate detail.

The box features two side handles and a decorative finial at the lid. There are a few bends and small knocks consistent with age and use, including a gently bent finial, yet the piece remains in very good condition for its age. The interior measures approximately 3.5 inches deep.

The original lock and key are no longer present. Despite this, the box retains exceptional character and craftsmanship, offering a beautiful example of early Indian metalwork with strong decorative and sculptural presence. See less
