A refined and authentic Art Deco picture frame dating to the late 1930s–early 1940s, distinguished by its sophisticated mix of materials and crisp geometric detailing.
The frame features a chrome-plated metal structure with brass ribbed corner accents, creating a striking contrast of warm and cool tones typical of the Deco period. The sides and backing are wrapped in original brown velvet, a luxury detail used in higher-quality prewar frames to protect furniture surfaces and elevate presentation—an element rarely found in later reproductions.
The clean, architectural silhouette and stepped geometry reflect classic Streamline and Art Deco influences, making this frame equally suited for display on a desk, console, or gallery wall. Its restrained elegance allows it to complement both vintage and modern interiors.
