This extraordinary sculpture is made of glazed … Read more This is an extremely rare vintage sculpture of a magnificent BORZOI Russian Wolfhound. This extraordinary sculpture is made of glazed hand painted porcelain. This gorgeous elegant BORZOI has been realistically sculpted with expressive eyes, an open mouth and curly textured fur, in a seated position. A leather collar with a name tag suitable for engraving with an attached leash was later added to the sculpture. This special Borzoi would look fabulous seated on the floor next to your favorite chair or desk.

This gorgeous Borzoi is very similar to the Borzoi dogs featured in the ad for Ralph Lauren Home: The Heiress Collection. The vintage ad featured a beautiful young girl leaning on an elegant elaborate canopied bed with two Borzoi dogs laying on the floor next to the bed... breathtaking!

Made In Italy ~ Circa late 1960.
