This homage to Rothko is one of the artist’s authorized sold out closed edition giclee prints on heavy cotton paper under gallery acrylic in a light oak frame, ready to hang. With CofA. The print shows WB’s characteristic large, thick textural color, juxtaposed with his detailed, micro figures. Please zoom in to see how well the giclee shows the heavy textured paint of the original. A striking piece.
The artist; “The Whole World's a Canvas, We're Just Walking In It.” Werner Bronkhorst is a South African born Australian contemporary visual artist. Recognised for his two distinctive styles, with the first involving abstract sculptural backgrounds with hyper-realistic paintings of miniature people and objects and the second involving charcoal drawings of cars with thick text layered on top, Bronkhorst uses social media as a tool to share his artistic process with the world. His already iconic pieces sell out at a rapid pace.
The artist’s description of this piece: “Get Served” begins where every match does — with a simple serve. The ball, suspended mid-air, holds infinite possibilities for the match ahead. Whether landing as an ace or a double fault, it’s the serve that places the first points on the board. Using a Rothko-like composition, this piece departs from literal representation, reimagining the court in Wimbledon’s iconic purple and green.
The artist’s description of this series: I’ve been tucked away in London for the past month, walking the city and soaking up the electric energy that takes over when Wimbledon hits. Everywhere I turn — from shop windows to tube ads — the city is buzzing with tennis. But nothing compares to the atmosphere on the grounds themselves: the tension, the tradition, the quiet moments before a serve and the loud moments after a point is won.
That’s where ‘Singles’ was born — right in the middle of it all.
This collection is my take on the magic of Wimbledon — not just the game, but the culture, the history, the strawberries, the silent intensity, the chaos, the calm.
This body of work tells stories from both on and off the court. In these pieces you’ll find champions, ball kids, umpires, even the groundskeepers — because let’s be honest, they’re just as much a part of the show. It’s tennis, but with more texture. Literally.
