This antique Philadelphia shipping crate dates to the turn of the 20th century and retains its original leather carry strap and visible stencil lettering. Originally used for transporting bottled goods by the dozen, the crate has a compact, utilitarian form with a wood surface shaped by use and handling. A strong decorative storage piece with early American industrial character.
