The bowl has a broad, low shape, and on one side part of the rim is missing, where pieces of wood have come away over time, while the piece remains structurally sound and stable overall.

Dimensions: height 12 cm, diameter 55 cm.

The surface is rich with signs of age: scratches, old drying cracks, small losses and here and there darker discolorations. The grain runs in wide lines and has a warm, nut-brown tone that almost turns black towards the edges. Together these details give the bowl a raw, sculptural character that feels very honest – pure wabi-sabi.

Originally this kibachi was used for kneading dough or preparing large quantities of food. Today it works as a striking interior piece: perfect as a generous fruit bowl, for nuts or dried flowers, or simply left empty as an object on a low table or on the floor. See less
