A 19th-century French lacquered relic box, crafted from oak and lacquered in a gray/monk's habit background with palmettes and racemes in shades of white. The oval lid is painted with the inscription "Reliqie" in Gothic script. The lid has an exposed clasp closure. The interior is painted in blue.
The frame of the box's base has a small hole in the lower right corner.
