The body is finished in a deep reddish-brown ground with an applied verdigris-style patina highlighting the intricate patterns around the midsection.
Marked on the base with a “JAPAN” export label and a decorative seal mark, this piece was produced for the international market during the mid-20th century, a period when Japanese workshops specialized in finely cast decorative metalware for export. While the seal is ornamental rather than identifying a specific artist, it reinforces the Asian-inspired design language of the piece.
