Produced for … Read more A finely modeled Scottish Beneagles porcelain figural whisky decanter depicting a merlin falcon perched on a rocky outcrop. Produced for Peter Thomson (Perth) Ltd., Scotland, circa 1970s, it was designed to function as both a whisky decanter and a decorative object. The stopper is concealed at the base, integrated into the rock formation—a hallmark of Beneagles figural designs. At 6.75 inches high, this piece works beautifully as a decorative accent on a bar cart, shelf, or bookcase, and pairs naturally with mid-century, traditional, or thoughtfully collected interiors.

Collector’s Note
Produced in Scotland during the mid-20th century, Beneagles figural bottles were made for Peter Thomson (Perth) Ltd. by Beswick (John Beswick Studio), which had become part of Royal Doulton following its acquisition in 1969. The Merlin is one of the more refined forms in the Beneagles series, valued for its naturalistic modeling and restrained glazing. These were never novelty pieces; they were intentionally designed as sculptural decorative objects, retaining their visual presence long after the whisky was gone.
