This is a quintessential symbol of Kashmiri hospitality: a traditional copper Samovar used for brewing Kahwa (spiced green tea). The design is ingenious—the central vertical tube (visible inside the rim) was filled with live coals to keep the tea in the surrounding chamber piping hot. This piece is distinguished by its elaborate sculptural details, including a stylized dragon or serpent handle and a spout often shaped like a bird's head. The vessel rests on a pierced, lattice-work base which originally allowed airflow to the coals. It is a masterpiece of functional engineering and artistic metalwork.
This antique Samovar is a sculptural masterpiece that transcends its original function to become a stunning conversation piece for the modern home. Its complex silhouette and dragon-detailed hardware make it a perfect "objet d'art" for a styled bookshelf or a curated coffee table.
