Expertly crafted 19th century black forest hunting arm chair brought over from Switzerland by a past generation. The center back piece has a back background with two deer standing stoically. Around the deer center piece is a frame off ornately hand carved dark wood. Thin arms are coming from the back in an art nouveau flowing style. The seat of the chair has a matching center piece of one large stag with full antlers on full display.
The corners of the arms have hand carved flowers, which match nicely with the marqueted flowers that can be found on the outskirts of the center pieces.
Good condition, wear consistent with age. Small split in the seat of the chair from the age of the wood, included in photos. Appears to be a missing decorative element at the front of the chair under the seat in-between the front legs. Damage blends in with the rest of the chair still, but when inspected you can tell that there is an element missing. Remaining legs of the decorative element could be easily removed so that there is no evidence of the damage in that area.
