Fresh from a New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this Antique French Louis XV Petite … Read more Fresh from a New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this Antique French Louis XV Petite Lady's Writing Desk. Wonderful quality, fine curved lines in the transitional style of Louis XIV - XV, made in late 19th / early 20th century. Top center features a sienna marble held in place by a reticulated bronze gallery, below which are two drawers, one above the other, each with a pair of gilt / gold ormolu bronze handles. Below the drawers is the sliding leatherette covered writing surface. Below the pullout is a single large drawer. "Bonheur du Jour" standing on four long curved downward tapering legs, ending in bronze sabot mounts. Condition is good overall, shows light age / use wear, as it was refinished recently, leatherette surface is recent and very good quality (please see photos). Size is great to fit in any room, house or apartment, at 38" tall to top of the gallery, 29" wide, 20.5" deep, desk writing surface is 30.5", and the knee clearance is 23" in height. Great piece for use, and a spectacular quality piece that will mesh with traditional and mid-century modern setting! See less
