A "Pegasus" sculpture by artist Bertil Vallien (born 1938) for the Swedish glass company Kosta Boda. From the artist's Viewpoints Series, the work features an abstract design of a red figure inside a black horse. The sides of the sculpture reflect the interior image. Marked “Kosta Boda B. Vallien 99515” to the underside, the work has a Kosta Boda sticker.
Bertil Vallien is a highly respected glass artist and designer. In the 1950s, he studied under Stig Lindberg at the art school Konstfack in Stockholm. Best known for his work at Kosta Boda, Vallien is celebrated for sand casted sculptures. Many of these sculptures have the repeated motif faces.
