Pirellone floor lamp, designed by Gio Ponti in 1967 for Fontana Arte Italy.
The design is based on the Pirelli skyscraper in Milano.
The lamp consists of a pair of curved glass panels held in place by 2 nickel plated elements, one at the base and the other at the top: a simple structure achieved through the use of highly shock-resistant glass. The lamp features a dimmer with a dual light emission system: diffuse (10 bulbs inside) and indirect (1 halogene at the top).
Beautiful lamp, especially when lit. This particular lamp was made in the 1990s.
