Original letterpress on paper of an original 18th C. Colonial American Merchant's Mark.
John Suter, Watch Maker, George Town (likely Georgetown, Washington, DC).
Presented in an elegant silver tint carved wood molding that presents as late 20th C.
The original printers mark was likely carved wood or forge metal - and would have been used to make marks like this one on items for sale and legal documents.
This is simply beautiful - a window into the past, and an incredible collection piece for wrist watch or pocket watch collectors or lovers of Early Americana.
