COLLECTOR'S NOTE
Herend produced a wide range of rabbit figures, most commonly modeled in seated, crouching, or downward-facing resting poses. This example, shown upright and looking upward, is less commonly encountered within the Herend animal repertoire and was produced in comparatively shorter runs, particularly in plain white. During the mid-20th century, buyer demand strongly favored hand-painted patterns such as Rothschild Bird and Queen Victoria, resulting in fewer white-glazed examples being ordered and retained. Additionally, figures with raised limbs and more vertical compositions were inherently more vulnerable to damage over time, further reducing the number of intact survivors on the secondary market.
