This is a beautiful antique Chinese three-tiered octagonal wedding or betrothal storage basket.
It is made from woven rattan and bamboo with a glass top. The handle features ornate carved designs with a brass top handle and dragons on the ends. There is a removable glass top on the top basket.
The 3 tiered baskets lift up and off of each other with decorative panels on the sides
These baskets were traditionally used during the betrothal process, with the groom's family filling them with gifts (such as food, fruits, and sweets) for the bride's family.
This makes a wonderful unique side table or in a corner as a decorative accent. It's perfect to store odds and ends or magazines.
