A vintage blue acrylic music box, which plays a portion of “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy” from The Nutcracker. It has a small mechanism that stops the music if desired.
The clear blue acrylic housing allows light to pass through beautifully, highlighting the metal components inside and giving the piece a sculptural, almost futuristic presence.
Likely dating to the 1960s–1970s, this music box reflects the era’s fascination with transparency, plastics, and exposed mechanics. It sits elevated on integrated Lucite feet, adding to its display appeal on a shelf, desk, or side table. When wound, the internal mechanism plays a gentle melody, making it as functional as it is decorative.
Perfect for collectors of mid-century modern accessories, Lucite objects, or unique conversation pieces. Displays well alone or grouped with other vintage acrylic items.
