An Italian Baroque mirror dating to the early 19th century, featuring a richly carved wooden frame with deep scrolling acanthus and foliate motifs. The bold, sculptural carving gives the piece strong architectural presence and visual movement.
The mirror retains its original gilt finish, now worn to a warm, layered patina with areas of exposed gesso and soft oxidation consistent with age. The mirror plate shows natural foxing, adding depth and character. The reverse reveals period construction and original surfaces.
